Using Clean Language

The use of Clean language is something that is core to the principles of NLP and something that once you have looked at your belief and value systems and set them up the way you want them, to achieve the results that you want you really should adopt and maintain.

The principle behind clean language is that you do not judge, presuppose or in NLP terms do what is know as mind read.

Ensure that your language is positive and encouraging.
That it is in line with your goals and with who you are.

When we mind read we make assumptions about peoples behaviour and language use based on our own interpretation of the world, remember our minds are not the territory only the map.

For instance we might see someone with a frown on the forehead and say "he is in a bad mood"
perhaps this is what we have seen happen with someone else when they have been in a bad mood and have associate the two.

It may well be that the person is deep in thought and considering something carefully.

We just don't know and so shouldn't make that judgement.

The very action of mind reading or using dirty language can very easily put you in the wrong state and move you away from your goals.

Remember to use Clean Language
